South heat winners revealed

Congratulations to 2nd Time Lucky team from Dandenong High School who has taken out the south heat of the Great Transport Race today, Thursday 10 May.

A massive well done also to the following four placegetters, who with the winners progress to the grand final on Tuesday 22 May:

1st place: Dandenong High School – 2nd Time Lucky – 115 minutes
2nd place: Shelford Girls Grammar School – Transformers – 105 minutes
3rd place: Shelford Girls Grammar School – Roadrunners – 98minutes
4th place: Bayswater Secondary College – Bayswater 1 – 95 minutes
5th place: Mordialloc College – Team Shakes – 96 minutes

Winning team 2nd Time Lucky from Dandenong High School said that experience was the key to their success.

“Our strategy was to run fast, spiral outwards and then come back in to reach as many pits spots as possible using trains, trams and buses. We managed to reach nine pits to win our spot in the grand final. We had lots of fun and feel more confident travelling on public transport now in Melbourne,” team captain Robin Phoeng said.
