More than 540 students are gearing up for an action packed adventure across Melbourne’s as they compete in the Great Transport Race qualifying heats.
Four qualifying heats will be held in Melbourne’s north, south, east and west, with the top five teams from each moving on to the grand final in the city on Tuesday 22 May
Students in the qualifying heats will race against schools from their local area. At each heat they will catch public transport to secret pit stops and take on challenges to earn time bonuses. It’s just like the Amazing Race in their neighbourhood.
Some great prizes are up for grabs for grand final winners, including a $2000 cheque for the winning school and various vouchers for students.
To get the winning edge, students should start studying public transport routes in the area and use the Public Transport Victoria journey planner to set practice trips.
